Looking for the best quiz software but not sure which one to choose?
You’re in the right place.
Building a quiz is a fantastic way to get more leads and learn more about your audience in the process.
However, there are SO many online quiz makers out there that you probably don’t know which one to pick or… where to even start.
Well, start here. It’s not about finding the option with the most features but rather the one that aligns with your needs and business goals.
So, below, I’ve compiled a list of the very best quiz-building tools out there, showing you their features, pricing, pros, and cons.
Let’s find out which one would be perfect for you!
Choosing the best quiz-building software for your business
Some of the quiz tools below focus more on lead generation while others focus on engagement and entertainment.
We’ve analysed each of them carefully so you can make the right choice when choosing a quiz tool to help you achieve your business goals.
1. ScoreApp Quiz Builder
ScoreApp is our software, we built it to solve a very specific problem…
To attract relevant warm leads, insightful data and increase sales within your business.
ScoreApp has 5000 current users and a 97% customer service score.
Our quiz-building software allows founders, entrepreneurs and marketers to get warm leads and insightful data – and use them to BOOST their sales.
Rather than a basic result or percentage, your audience can also receive a personalised Scorecard divided into categories. So, they get valuable insights, and you get a tonne of data: a win-win!
ScoreApp allows your audience to grade themselves so they know what they need to do to improve, but it also allows you to deliver specific advice, guidance and content with the customisable results page.
Quiz Software Landing Pages
Price – From free or £29/$39 per month (£290/$390 if paid annually)
ScoreApp is free and allows up to 10 responses per month before you have to pay for a premium account.
Pros
- Drag-and-drop page builder – Use our pre-made quiz templates and drag-and-drop blocks to create your quiz and landing pages: easy peasy
- AI online quiz maker – We were the first quiz software to integrate AI so you can create your entire quiz in 3 minutes
- Versatile – You can ask unlimited questions in a wide range of formats, from multiple choice to sliding scales and anything in between
- Dynamic results – Your Scorecards will divide them into categories, showing your customers what they’re already doing well and what needs improving (with your help, of course). You can then send different email sequences based on their results
- Design control – Change the appearance of your quiz with your fonts, colours and logo to match your own brand
- Analytics – In-depth but easy to track, they’ll allow you to measure the success of your quiz and figure out how to improve it
- Integrations – Connect your ScoreApp quiz with the most popular CRMs and tools
- PDF reports – some of the higher plans allow you to send a full (and customisable) PDF report to your leads
Cons
- Whitelabelling – ScoreApp has many agencies using it for their clients. However, if you want a completely white-label tool that removes all ScoreApp branding 100%, then it’s probably not right for you. It may well be in the future.
- Not built for e-commerce product recommendations – If you sell e-commerce products and you’re looking for a tool that helps recommend products, then ScoreApp won’t be right for you.
- Slightly more expensive – As ScoreApp offer advanced design and data analytics, the cost is a little more than other cheap/basic quiz tools.
Quiz types
- Simple scores (e.g. You score 8 out of 10 on the fitness quiz)
- Multiple scores for different categories (e.g. You scored great in fitness but need to improve your nutrition)
- Personality quizzes (e.g. Your fitness personality type is “Warrior,” which means you train well and eat clean.”
2. Interact Quiz Software
Interact helps you grow your email list and segment your contacts using a “BuzzFeed” type quiz. They provide simple, fun quizzes that allow you to engage your audience and collect email subscribers in the process.
As Interact suggest, you can use their quiz software to recommend specific ecommerce products that you sell on your website. Website visitors can take a quiz and find out which lipstick is right for them or which dog lead is best for their dog.
The landing pages are a little basic and they don’t allow for much customisation, but if you want something quick and easy, then Interact might be right for you.
Price – From $39/month ($324 if paid annually)
Pros
- Simple – You can create a simple-looking quiz even as a complete beginner
- Examples & Templates – Interact has lots of pre-built templates and quiz ideas divided by industry
- Integrations and segmentation – Not only does it integrate with the most common email marketing and CRM platforms: but it also makes it effortless to segment and manage your leads
Cons
- Limited customisation – Compared to some other of the best quiz-building software, Interact has fewer options to keep your quiz on-brand
- No advanced scoring – Other tools allow you to give specific advice and guidance based on categories and scores, Interact only allows you to get basic scores overall.
- Only 3 quiz types – You can use multiple-choice, true or false and image or GIF-based questions. If you were hoping for more options and questions styles, Interact might not be for you
- Pricing – The basic option is very limited. So, if you want to track conversions and add your own branding, you’ll need the more expensive plans – which can be quite pricey for small businesses and individuals ($125/month)
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Simple-Scored quizzes
- Ecommerce product recomendations
3. SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey has been around for a while, and when it comes to creating surveys for market research and customer feedback, it’s one of the best.
SurveyMonkey also offers basic scored quizzes, which you can use for employees, customers, students etc to gather data and segment them based on their overall quiz score.
The quiz function within SurveyMonkey is not really built for lead generation, so if your primary goal is getting more leads, then it might not be right for you.
Price – Freemium – £99/month (£32/month paid annually)
Pros
- Versatile – Use SurveyMonkey to create both surveys and quizzes
- Analytics – Compared to most quiz-building software, SurveyMonkey offers robust tracking options to make informed and data-driven decisions
- Integrations – I’d be surprised if you found a platform you can’t connect to your quiz!
- Templates – You can start from various templates and pre-written questions
Cons
- Not really quiz software – The quiz element is more of an “addon” rather than a core feature like their survey builder
- Limited customisation – SurveyMonkey has fewer options than some other of the best quiz-building software. Also, you can only remove their logo with the most expensive plans
- Pricing – They have a basic free plan but that’s mainly for testing the product out and won’t offer enough features for most businesses. The pricing for a premium account is a little confusing. If you want to pay monthly, then it will cost you £99 per month. If you pay annually, it will give you
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- Rating scale quizzes
- Likert scale quizzes
4. LeadQuizzes
Lead quizzes is another popular choice if you are looking for quiz software to generate leads. While it also offers some interesting options for surveys and forms, the name says it all. LeadQuizzes specialises in engaging your audience and capturing more leads for your business.
As you can see from the landing page examples below, LeadQuizzes try to keep things simple. Their landing pages are pretty basic but are good enough for simple quizzes to entertain your audience. They do offer a drag-and-drop form builder, and it’s relatively simple to use. It’s just lacking some advanced functionality that you might find useful.
Price – From $49/month ($444 if paid annually)
Pros
- Lead generation – Its focus means it’s full of features to grow and manage your leads, making it a valuable tool for your marketing and sales in particular
- Drag and drop quiz builder – Start from a template, and create the perfect quiz, form or survey using its drag-and-drop design
- Examples and templates – You can choose from +40 quiz templates and edit them to match your brand or use them as inspiration
- Integrations – A lead-focused quiz-building tool wouldn’t be complete without integrating with the most popular email marketing and CRM platforms. LeadQuizzes doesn’t disappoint
Cons
- Basic landing pages and results pages – You won’t be able to add engaging landing/results pages to your quiz. You are pretty much stuck with the basic examples above.
- Limited quiz types – If you were after lead generation alone, great! But if you were also hoping to use quizzes for e-learning and employee training, LeadQuizzes might not be for you
- Limited analytics – Not as in-depth as some other of the best quiz-building software
- Pricing – LeadQuizzes seems expensive for a relatively basic quiz tool, especially since you must choose a higher tier to unlock handy features like custom email automation
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Assessment quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
5. Typeform
Typeform is mainly used for building forms so you can gather data and feedback. However, you could also use it as quiz-building software too.
Their quiz templates seem simple and fun and are focused on lite personality quizzes and product recommendations.
Typeform does not allow you to build attractive, in-depth landing pages and results pages though, so if you’re looking to deliver real value and insights to your audience, then it’s probably not right for you.
Price – Freemium and £25/$29 per month (£252 if paid annually)
Pros
- SImple design – Typeform’s unique design and conversational style will make your quizzes more engaging while keeping them user-friendly
- Customisation – Despite the minimalist design, you can really personalise your Typeform quizzes to match your brand colours and style
- Templates – With 3000+ templates, you’re spoiled for choice
- Integrations – You’ll probably get to connect your Typeform quiz to all your usual platforms and systems
Cons
- Not primarily quiz software – Typeform is mainly used for forms and feedback gathering. This means the quiz feature doesn’t get as many updates as other quiz tools on this list
- Learning curve – Even though it does offer a drag-and-drop builder, its interface isn’t as intuitive as most of the best quiz-building software
- Not for everyone – Some people LOVE Typeform’s layout, and some others get impatient when presented with one question at a time. So, it really depends on your audience
- Pricing – The free plan only gives you up to 10 answers per month, and the basic one is very limited (for example, you can’t even add your own branding)
- Bots – Several users have reported problems with answers generated by bots, which can tamper with your data and uses the monthly quota
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Scored quizzes
- Assessment quizzes
6. ProProfs Online Quiz Maker
Proprofs isn’t just a quiz builder, it’s an entire learning management system!
ProProfs offers a tonne of options for tests and exams too, which makes it one of the best choices for employee training and education purposes.
They do allow you to build personality quizzes too, but it’s really not built for lead generation. The quiz builder only offers basic customisation and doesn’t include customisable landing pages and results pages.
Price – Freemium and from $25/month ($240 if paid annually)
Pros
- Comprehensive features – ProProfs offers a wide range of tools to create, manage and share quizzes. For example, you can choose from over a dozen question types and 1,000,000+ ready-to-use wordings (yes, you read that correctly)
- Languages – Because you can create quizzes in over 70 languages, ProProfs is a game-changer if you have international employees, branches or students – or if you’re targeting customers around the world
- Integrations – As well as the usual CRMs and email platforms, you can connect your quiz with the rest of the ProProfs LMS
- Affordable – Its free and basic plans are excellent budget-friendly options for smaller businesses and solopreneurs
Cons
- Learning curve – Its huge range of features is impressive… but it can also feel overwhelming, especially if you were only after a simple quiz-building tool
- Focus on learning – And if that’s what you need it for, ProProfs is perfect! But if you wanted to double down on lead generation, it’s not the most obvious choice
- Limited customisation – Not as many options as most of the best quiz-building software on this list
- Limitations – Yes, there’s a free plan, but it comes with lots of pop-ups and doesn’t include useful options like reports
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
- Fill-in-the-blank quizzes
- Polls
- Online tests and exams
7. Opinion Stage
This is another good quiz-building tool. Opinion Stage makes it simple and easy to create fun and engaging quizzes, polls and surveys for your customers.
It’s similar to tools like Interact and LeadQuizzes. It comes with basic landing pages and results pages, you don’t have much in the way of customisation and you get very little data on the backend. Great if you’re looking for a simple tool to boost engagement.
Price – Freemium and from $32 per month ($300pa if paid annually)
Pros
- Variety – It’s not just for lead generation. Use it to get feedback, too
- Customisation – You can start with a pre-built template and change its look and feel to match your brand
- Integrations – Connect your new quiz with HUNDREDS of tools and email marketing or CRM platforms. Easy
Cons
- Limited quiz types – Opinion Stage is mostly about personality quizzes and polls, which may or may not be relevant for you and your future goals
- Pricing – The free and basic plans offer very limited options, especially when it comes to customisation. With the most popular one being $79 per month, Opinion Stage is better suited for bigger businesses
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
- Product finder
8. Riddle
This quiz-building software lets you create simple, engaging quizzes, polls and surveys for your business.
It’s especially popular for its personality quizzes that are fun and easy for anyone to take part. e.g.
- “What Disney princess are you?”
- “What learning style would suit you better?”
- “What is your spirit animal?”
Riddle is mainly used by larger companies who want to increase engagement using a fun quiz. It doesn’t seem to cater well to smaller businesses that want to create valuable, content-driven assesments for their audience.
Price – From £69/month (£708 if paid annually)
Pros
- Easy to use – It doesn’t matter if this is your first quiz-building software: you’ll get it ready in no time (and manage it easily) thanks to its user-friendly interface
- AI Enabled – You can build your quiz automatically using their new AI feature.
- Languages – Its extensive options make Riddle a valuable choice for international businesses that target customers across the globe
- Integrations – You can connect your quiz to most email marketing and CRM platforms, and it’s even available as a WordPress plugin, too
Cons
- Pricing – Riddle’s cheapest plan is £69 per month which is more expensive than many premium options of other quiz-building software. So, it could be tricky for small businesses and individuals
- No landing/results pages – Riddle doesn’t come with pre-built landing page designs, so you’ll need to build them directly on your website and embed the quiz.
- Limited quiz types – While it does offer a few more options, Riddle’s focus on personality quizzes might not match everyone’s needs
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
- Ranked list quizzes
- Timed quizzes
- Polls
9. Involve.me
Most of the best quiz-building software focuses on getting those email addresses. Involve.me takes it one step further by taking care of your whole funnel – from payments directly to segmenting your audience and sending them personalised sequences.
Involve.me does offer the ability to create landing pages for your quiz but the templates are basic and quite simple which means, you’ll need to use your imagination if you want to create high-quality quiz landing pages.
Price – Freemium and from $25 per month (£300 pa if paid annually)
Pros
- Versatility – You can also use it to create a wide range of interactive content beyond quizzes
- Funnel – It has features for your entire customer journey so you can take payments
- Drag-and-drop landing pages – Start from one of its 250+ templates, and personalise it to match your brand
- Integrations – Involve.me takes lead management to the next level, and its wide range of integrations facilitates it
Cons
- Learning curve – Such a wide range of features comes at a price! Involve.me isn’t as intuitive as most of the best quiz-building software in this list.
- The landing pages are basic – You can technically add extra elements to your landing page, but it’s not simple and it tends to look a little cluttered if you’re not a designer.
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Assessment quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
10. Quizzes4Leads
Quizzes4Leads offers an easy way to build basic, fun quizzes. Much like Interact and Leadpages, this quiz-building software allows you to grow your email list, while offering a fun and engaging experience in the process. Quizzes4Leads doesn’t offer advanced functionality and reporting and doesn’t integrate with some of the most common CRMs.
This tool does not allow you to create high-quality landing pages and results pages, instead, they try to keep their tool simple and limited on features.
Price – Freemium and from $20/month
Pros
- Lead generation focus – Because that’s exactly what it specialises in, it’s a better option for your marketing and sales than some of the more generic online quiz makers
- Some styling – You can get your quiz to match your brand and even use images and GIFs
- Examples/templates – There are plenty of example templates that you can use depending on your niche or industry.
Cons
- Limited quiz types – If you’re only after a quiz to generate leads, this tool is outstanding. But if you also have additional goals (like gathering feedback), then there are more versatile options out there
- Limited templates – Quizzes4Leads has fewer options than most of the best quiz-building software on this list
- Relatively new – Some users complained about bugs (but it’s probably something that’ll get better and better)
- Pricing – Technically, it has a freemium model, but the free plan should really be used as a free trial: you can only get one lead a month. The cheapest option also has several limitations. For example, if you want to collect more than 50 leads, you’ll need to pay $50/month (which is nothing for a large business but could be a deal-breaker for smaller ones or individuals)
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Assessment quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
11. Pointerpro
Previously known as Survey Anyplace, PointerPro is clearly built for surveys, training and development.
Although you could use PointerPro to create quizzes, it’s more focused on whitelabel assessments for larger companies for internal use. PointerPro are one of the few companies that allow quiz participants to download a PDF of their results at the end.
One big downside, PointerPro doesn’t offer landing pages for your quiz, which is surprising as the starting price for PointerPro is $69 per month.
Instead, they provide a simple form, which means if you need an attractive landing page, you will have to hire a developer or use another page builder like Leadpages or Unbounce.
Price – From $69/month
Pros
- Versatility – Pointerpro lets you create all kinds of assessments, surveys and quizzes. So, it can complement your internal training, marketing and operations in lots of different ways
- Downloadable report – After completing the quiz or assessment, users receive a bespoke report and get to download it as a PDF
- White-label – Pointerpro focuses on making their tool 100% white-label, which you can replace all their branding with your own.
Cons
- Learning curve – Many users struggled to familiarise themselves with this platform, which isn’t as intuitive as most of the best quiz-building software
- Limited integrations – Pointerpro only offers a few, especially when compared to other popular options. Most integrations are better suited to store data (e.g. spreadsheets) rather than to manage and nurture leads, although you can work around this with Zapier
- Not focused on lead generation – I think Pointerpro is a more suitable option for onboarding and internal training. If you’re hoping to generate and manage leads, there are better online quiz makers for you
- Pricing – It might be too high for smaller businesses and individuals
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- Rating scale quizzes
- Likert scale quizzes
12. Outgrow
Outgrow provides calculators, forms and other interactive tools rather than just quizzes.
They do allow you to create quizzes and surveys, but their software has lots of different use cases as well. This is a good thing, but it does mean that the quiz tool might not get as many updates or improvements because they have lots of other features too.
Depending on your business model and goals, you might have too many features that you don’t use. Other tools focus on just quizzes which means they focus entirely on creating and improving the quiz functionality.
Price – From $22/month or $14/month when paid annually.
Pros
- Variety of content types – Outgrow lets you create quizzes, surveys and calculators. So, you can use it for all kinds of purposes, from lead generation to market research
- Customisation – Choose from 1000+ templates, or use a drag-and-drop builder to create your quiz from scratch. Either way, you can really personalise it to match your brand
- Analytics – Outgrow offers robust data collection and tracking features, which are perfect to analyse your user engagement and conversion rates
- Integrations – It’s really easy to embed your quiz, and you can integrate it with popular email marketing and CRM platforms
Cons
- Learning curve – You might not find Outgrow to be as intuitive as some of the best quiz-building software
- Pricing – If you want to access features that you might consider essential (like removing its branding or using logic jumps), you need to choose the $95/month plan. This might be too expensive for smaller businesses and individuals
Quiz types
- Calculators
- Personality quizzes
- Assessment quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
13. ResponseSuite
ResponseSuite is a survey builder that helps you segment your audience easily. It’s simple and easy to use and is great if you want to survey your existing list and put them into different sequences.
Although it’s not really a “quiz-builder” you can allocate certain scores for each question you ask and use the scores to segment your responses.
Surveys aren’t usually used for lead generation, which means they might not convert as well as a quiz, but ResponseSuite is still a really powerful tool for engaging and re-engaging your email list.
Price – Freemium or $49/month
Pros
- Segmentation – Response Suite specialises in helping businesses get more leads and, especially, segmenting them strategically. You can then send them more personalised email sequences, making life easier for your marketing and sales departments
- Answer Types – They have 15 answer types which means you can vary your questions from multiple-choice, sliding scale and much more
- Integrations – ResponseSuite integrates well with the most popular email marketing and CRM platforms, allowing you to get leads, manage and nurture them
- Free plan – Compared to most of the best quiz-building software, its free plan includes an impressive variety of features
Cons
- Not really a quiz-building tool – Although you can attach scores to questions, it’s mainly used for surveys and segmentation.
- Learning curve – Several users stated that they struggled to familiarise themselves with its interface, especially when it came to integrations and customisation
- Limited customisation – As it’s a survey builder, you don’t have the ability to create attractive landing pages and results pages.
- Pricing – Response Suite goes from a free plan to $49 or $69/month, which might not work for many budgets
Quiz types
- Surveys
- Scored Surveys
14. iSpring QuizMaker
iSpring is a complete online training product that companies can use to create online courses for their employees and students. To complement the e-learning tools, iSpring includes testing and quiz tools that help your audience learn more and retain the information for longer.
As iSpring is mainly used for assessments, e-learning, and training, it doesn’t really advertise any lead generation features. It’s a great way to engage your employees and help them learn but not really beneficial if you need a quiz to generate more leads.
Price – £329/$370 per year per user
Pros
- Comprehensive features – QuizMaker offers a wide range of options for creating, managing and sharing your quizzes and tests. For example, you can even add a time limit or include motivational feedback
- Offline capabilities – You don’t need to be online to create and work on your quizzes
- iSpring Suite – You’ll get to connect your iSpring quiz to the rest of its learning management system
Cons
- You must download the software – To build a quiz, you’ll need to download the software onto your computer. This might be a deal breaker if you are wanting something online.
- Microsoft only – If you’re team Mac, I have bad news for you: unless you have a licensed copy of Microsoft Windows, or use a backdoor method you won’t be able to use iSpring
- Limited integrations – iSpring Suite aside, you’ll only be able to connect your quiz to a handful of platforms. So, it might not work well with your existing systems and lead management goals
- Limited uses – If you’re focusing on e-learning or employee training, iSpring is an excellent choice. Unfortunately, this e-learning authoring toolkit is not as relevant for lead generation and customer feedback. It was also designed with specific industries in mind (like education, retail and healthcare). So, it might not work as well for other types of businesses, entrepreneurs and service providers
- Pricing – You must commit to a full year, which is $370 per user
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
- Fill-in-the-blank quizzes
15. Quiz Cat by Fatcat Apps
Fatcat makes WordPress plugins for small businesses, bloggers and marketers.
One of them, Quiz Cat, is obviously all about creating quizzes, which you can use for lead generation, audience engagement or e-learning.
The quizzes are pretty basic and don’t allow for much customisation but it’s a fun way to engaging content to your website.
Price – From $69/year

- WordPress integration – It’ll be a piece of cake to add and manage your quiz through your WordPress website
- Affordable pricing – QuizCat is one of the most budget-friendly online quiz makers, which makes it a handy option for beginners, small businesses or individuals
Cons
- Limited features – You can’t expect the same functionalities and levels of customisation as the best quiz-building software. And if you want to personalise it to fully match your brand, you’ll need coding
- Limited integrations – At this stage, it only integrates with 9 other platforms
- WordPress dependency – With it being a plugin, it can only be used on WordPress websites. If yours was built on a different platform or you’re planning on migrating it in the future, you should choose a standalone online quiz maker
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
16. Thrive Quiz Builder
Another WordPress plugin, this online quiz maker allows you to create attractive and fun ones – for example, with image-based questions, too.
Definitely an interesting solution for lead generation and audience engagement! And you can choose to get it as a standalone plugin or as part of Thrive Themes’ entire product suite.
Price – From $99/year for the Quiz Builder plugin or $299/year for the full product suite
Pros
- Customisation – Not as much as the best quiz-building software, but certainly better than most quiz plugins
- WordPress integration – It’ll be effortless to launch and maintain your quiz through your WordPress website
- Intuitive – This plugin is simple to use and even comes with a set-up wizard
- Segmentation – You’ll get to segment your quiz respondents and send them targeted emails based on their results
- Affordable pricing – The standalone plugin is less than $100/year
- Analytics – Considering it’s just a plugin, Thrive Quiz analytics are pretty impressive. You’ll also get to try some A/B testing
Cons
- Limited features and quiz types – There are only 5 quiz types, 5 templates and 3 question styles to choose from. Plus, these quizzes are mainly for lead generation and audience engagement: if you had different or additional goals, this plugin might not work for your business
- WordPress dependency – Only for you if you have (and are planning on sticking with) a WordPress website
Quiz types
- Personality quizzes
- Trivia quizzes
17. Formidable Forms
As the name suggests, this WordPress plugin is known for its interactive and user-friendly forms.
However, depending on your chosen plan, you can totally use it to create fun quizzes for lead generation or surveys for customer feedback, too.
Price – From $199.50/year (quizzes are only available with the Business plan)
Pros
- Versatility – Forms, quizzes, surveys and even calculators: this plugin can complement your marketing and operations in lots of different ways!
- Customisation – You can start from its templates and pre-written hooks to then create a bespoke quiz that matches your brand
- WordPress integration – It’ll integrate seamlessly with your WordPress website, and it even comes with over 30 add-ons
- Price – Even its most expensive plan can be considered fairly budget-friendly
Cons
- Limited quiz features – At the end of the day, Formidable Forms was created with forms in mind. So, when it comes to quizzes for lead generation, you won’t find the same range of features as with the best quiz-building software
- Learning curve – Not as intuitive as other quiz plugins, and you might need to use HTML code to customise it fully
- WordPress dependency – If you haven’t got a WordPress website or aren’t planning on staying on that platform forever, this wouldn’t be the right choice
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- Rating scale quizzes
18. Gravity Forms Quiz
Gravity Forms is an extremely popular WordPress plugin mainly used for website contact forms. They do allow you to create advanced contact forms with many fields so you can collect lots of data.
Gravity forms also allow you to buy a quiz addon that comes with a quiz-building element for scoring questions, conditional logic and much more.
If you’re already using Gravity forms for your website, it might be worth looking into their quiz feature if you want to build a basic quiz.
Price – From $259/year
Pros
- GravityForm integration – Because it’s an add-on, this online quiz maker comes with the Gravity Forms’ Elite Plan. So, you’ll also get to use all its form-related features
- WordPress integration – Both the quiz add-on and the entire Gravity Forms plugin are easy to manage through your WordPress website
Cons
- Limited quiz features – At the end of the day, this is still the add-on of a form builder plugin. Its features can’t be compared to the best quiz-building software. I only recommend it for beginners – and if forms are your main focus
- Limited customisation – It does come with templates and a few options to personalise your quizzes, but not as many as you might like. In fact, you’ll probably need custom CSS to take it one step further
- WordPress dependency – Not for you if you haven’t got a WordPress website
- Pricing – You can only get the Quiz add-on with the Elite Plan, which may be too expensive for small businesses and individuals. Plus, it’s only really worth it if you actually need the form-building option. Otherwise, there are cheaper quiz plugins
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
19. WP Quiz by MyThemeShop
The MyThemeShop platform specialises in premium themes for WordPress websites, but it also sells plugins – and this one is obviously all about quizzes, from lead generation to e-learning.

Cons
- Limited quiz features – You only get a handful of quiz types and options
- Limited customisability – Colours aside, you won’t be able to personalise it as much as with the best quiz-building software. So, it won’t match your brand completely
- WordPress dependency – If you’re not using WordPress (or you think you might migrate your website one day), this isn’t for you
Quiz types
- Trivia quizzes
- Personality quizzes
- Flip quizzes
20. Quiz and Survey Master (QSM)
With this WordPress plugin, you can create fun quizzes and surveys with a strong focus on gamification, from leaderboards to timers.
Great to boost engagement and stand out against the most boring competitors!
Price – From $129/year

- Versatility – You can create several types of quizzes and surveys, complementing your business in different ways
- Add-ons and integrations – Considering it’s a plugin, QSM offers an impressive range of both (like payment gateways, email marketing platforms and certificates)
- Affordable pricing – All its plans are very cost-effective, which makes QSM a fantastic option for beginners, small businesses and individuals
Cons
- Limited features – While it does offer a few interesting ones (like a timer and multilingual options), its range isn’t as extensive as the best quiz-building software
- Customization – QSM relies on a few themes rather than full customisation features. So, it’ll be trickier to match your own brand fully
- WordPress dependency – You can only use it if you have a WordPress website
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
- Fill-in-the-blank quizzes
21. Ari Stream Quiz
This is another interesting WordPress plugin to build interactive quizzes for lead generation, audience engagement or even simple e-learning solutions.
It even lets you include images and videos!

22. HD Quiz
Is budget your main concern? Happy with a simple online quiz maker without bells and whistles? Then, HD Quiz might be enough.
It’s a WordPress plugin for quizzes that are easy to make and share. While it won’t help with lead generation, you can use it for engagement and to reach more people on social media.
Price – Free (Addons available from $14.99-$47.99 per year)
Pros
- Simple – HD Quiz is the kind of online quiz maker that your least techie relative can easily figure out
- Fun – You can add images, GIFs and even use a timer for your quizzes
- WordPress integration – This plugin is easy to use and manage through your WordPress website. It’ll also use the fonts and styling of your chosen theme, all automatically
Cons
- No lead generation – At this stage, HD Quiz doesn’t let you collect email addresses, which defeats the purpose of using a quiz for lead generation. You can only make that work through separate add-ons or by coding
- Limited quiz features – HD Quiz doesn’t offer as many options as most of the best quiz-building platforms
- Limited customisation – This plugin does use your theme styles, but if you want to customise your quiz further, you’ll need separate add-ons
- WordPress dependency – Like all the plugins on our list, it only works if you have a WordPress website
Quiz types
- Trivia quizzes
- Multiple-choice quizzes
23. LearnDash
LearnDash is not primarily a quiz tool. It’s a WordPress learning management tool for course creators. However, they do offer a quiz function within it that allows students to score themselves as they go through an online course.
The quiz element of LearnDash is not built for lead generation or audience growth, but it is very effective if you want to help your students learn more and retain the content.
Price – From $199/year
Pros
- Comprehensive LMS features – LearnDash isn’t just one of the best quiz-building software: it’s an entire LMS! So, it includes all kinds of features to create and manage your e-learning solutions, like badges & certificates and a profile dashboard
- Customisation – Choose from its range of templates, and personalise them to match your brand
- WordPress integration – It’ll integrate seamlessly with your WordPress website and theme
Cons
- Not primarily for lead generation – LearnDash was “created by educators, for educators.” If that’s you, you’ll love it! But if you were planning on building a quiz for lead generation or customer feedback, then it’s not the best quiz-building software for you
- WordPress dependency – It’ll only work if you have a WordPress website
- Pricing – Don’t get me wrong: it’s a bargain when you make the most of all its e-learning features! But if you’re only after a quiz, there are plenty of options that are better value for money
Quiz types
- Multiple-choice quizzes
- True/false quizzes
- Fill-in-the-blank quizzes
24. Bucket.io
If you have ever used Clickfunnels before, then you’ll notice a few similarities with Bucket.io. It’s been built as a funnel building software using quizzes as the lead magnet. It looks and feels the same as Clickfunnels and aims to get more people through the funnel so they can buy from you quicker.
The tool tries to help with segmentation and online product sales which might be ok for low-ticket products but if you want to grow your audience, deliver more value and sell higher-ticket products then it might not be the best solution for you.
Price – From $99/month
Pros
- Segmentation and targeting – Its focus makes Bucket.io ideal for your marketing and sales
- AI integration – It’s recently started to dip its virtual toes in AI to help you create your quiz faster
- No limit – It allows you to build an unlimited number of funnels and quizzes where as other quiz tools have limits
- Integrations – You can connect it to 1000+ apps and channels, including all the best email marketing and CRM platforms
Cons
- Limited quiz types – While it’s fantastic for leads, its focus on segmentation might make it less relevant if you’re looking for e-learning or entertainment solutions, too
- Beta – AI is only available with the 3.0 version, which is still being worked on
- Costly – If you run a large and established business, $99/month is probably nothing for you. But if you’re a smaller company or individual, Bucket.io might be too expensive – especially when compared to most of the best quiz-building software
- Learning curve – Several users found its interface a lot less intuitive than most quiz-building platforms
- Difficult to customise – A few reviewers have said that it’s difficult to make basic changes to fonts and styling
Quiz types
- Segmentation quizzes
- Lead generation quizzes
