Zoho is a great CRM, but if you’re planning a launch, you shouldn’t spam all your existing contacts with a generic promotion.
Instead, build a list of people who are interested in it, create momentum in a personalised way, and then announce your new product or service. How?
Simple: by attaching a ScoreApp waitlist to your Zoho CRM. We’ll show you how to do that in practice, step-by-step.
What is a waitlist funnel, and can you create one with Zoho?
A waitlist is a list of people who are interested in a product, service, or offer you’re planning on launching. So, a full waitlist funnel is a marketing strategy that consists of building that list and nurturing it in a tailored way to then sell out confidently.
If you plan it strategically, your waitlist funnel will allow you to:
- Position yourself as a premium and exclusive option
- Gauge demand and find out if your target customers are interested in your new offer (before developing it!)
- Fully validate that initial concept by getting feedback on it
- Optimise it accordingly—if needed—to really match demand
- Capture relevant leads in advance
- Pre-qualify them to identify whether or not they’d be the right fit (especially if you’re launching a service or anything that involves sales calls)
- Segment them automatically based on their needs, preferences, likes, or dislikes
- Nurture them in a personalised way with tailored email sequences
- Create hype and urgency
- Sell out confidently (instead of spending time and money building a new offer, dropping it out of the blue, and HOPING it will sell)
However, at this stage, Zoho still hasn’t got a waitlist feature. But if that’s what you’re using as your CRM, fret not.
You can use ScoreApp to create a waitlist landing page, ask questions to collect the data you need, and automatically add those subscribers to your Zoho CRM. With the latter, you’ll then get to manage and nurture them with personalised emails and touchpoints. Easy!
How to create a full ScoreApp and Zoho waitlist funnel in 5 steps
Luckily, thanks to our direct integration, connecting ScoreApp and Zoho is a breeze.
For your waitlist funnel to work smoothly and be profitable, though, you must first plan it properly so that it feeds into your goals. So, let’s go through every single step!
Step 1: Create your waitlist with ScoreApp
- Identify your waitlist goal – What’s this waitlist for? When are you planning on launching? And what are you hoping to gain from it? This will help you come up with the right angle, knowing what to focus on throughout your funnel. For example, you might want to build a waitlist to validate a new product idea or to pre-qualify and retain potential clients while you’re still fully booked
- Build your waitlist landing page – Your copy should highlight two main things: the benefits of joining your waitlist and how exclusive it is (for example, will you only offer this new product to your subscribers? Will they get a higher discount and additional perks?). Also, include professional photos, videos, reviews from past customers, and unmissable calls to action
- Create some waitlist questions for your subscribers – THIS makes the biggest difference between a generic “coming soon” page and a waitlist that validates your idea and gives you data! So, what do you need to know to launch your offer confidently and achieve your main goal? Start from that, and work your way backwards to plan the right questions. For example, you might want to ask for feedback on your initial concept, find out how much your customers would pay for it, and so on.
With ScoreApp, this is as easy as pie. You can use our drag-and-drop builder, customise a template, and make the most of AI to write your content.
You’ll also get to ask these questions after someone signs up for your waitlist. That way, even if a few leads don’t complete them, you’ll still get to contact them and add them to Zoho. High five!
Step 2: Integrate ScoreApp and Zoho
Once you’ve created your waitlist landing page and questions on ScoreApp, connect them with your Zoho CRM:
- On ScoreApp, go to Integrate and choose Zoho
- Select “Click to Authenticate” and find your Zoho account to complete this setup
That’s literally it!
Step 3: Map your fields to collect the right information
Whenever someone signs up for your ScoreApp waitlist and answers your questions, they’ll be added as a Zoho contact, all automatically. ScoreApp will also share their First Name, Last Name, and Email.
Now, this could be all you need… but to get the MOST out of your waitlist funnel, you must nurture your subscribers in a personalised way. So, we highly recommend getting ScoreApp and Zoho to exchange more information.
Don’t worry: you’ll only need to set this up once. So, start by getting clear on what insights you wish to collect and how you’ll segment your subscribers. Then, in the same Integrate section:
- Map leads form fields – When someone joins your ScoreApp waitlist, do you need them to share additional information (like their website or phone number) so it can be automatically added to their Zoho profile?
- Map result fields – This phase is the real game-changer. Add different Zoho tags and fields for each lead depending on how they answered your ScoreApp questions. For example, if you asked “What do you value the most in a 1:1 coaching programme?”, you might want to segment your subscribers based on whether they answered “Direct feedback” or “Accountability”
We also recommend creating (and selecting) a separate Zoho list, so that your new ScoreApp subscribers are separated from your other contacts or your generic newsletter.
Step 4: Nurture your ScoreApp waitlist subscribers with personalised Zoho emails
By now, you’ve put everything in place to attract more waitlist leads, collect relevant insights, and segment them. The next steps?
Using these foundations and data to nurture those subscribers in a personalised way until it’s time for your big announcement.
You can tailor your Zoho emails by either:
- Creating different sequences for each segment
- Personalising certain elements, like specific wording, links, or subject lines
But what should you include in your Zoho waitlist sequence?
Well, think of it as a bridge between your waitlist landing page and your launch. For example, you could include emails to:
- Welcome your subscribers and make them feel special for being on this exclusive list
- Zoom in on their biggest problem, teasing how your upcoming product or service will solve it
- Educate them on why this matters and what difference it’ll make in practice, including strategic sales enablement content (like blog posts or videos that debunk their concerns and misconceptions)
- Humanise your brand, and create a connection through narrative-based emails and anecdotes
- Build trust with case studies and reviews from previous customers or beta testers
- Highlight what makes this upcoming launch limited, creating FOMO and urgency and compelling subscribers to watch out for your emails
When the time is right, you’ll get to share your new offer with a list of people who expressed an interest in it, have already been educated, and were excitedly waiting for it (no more basing your launch on guesswork and hoping for the best!).
Step 5: Optimise your ScoreApp and Zoho waitlist funnel
You might be eager to go all in, but to avoid unpleasant surprises (like broken links, automations that don’t work, or emails that push your subscribers away), you should also:
- Test your ScoreApp and Zoho waitlist funnel before launching it – From your ScoreApp landing page to your quiz questions and every single Zoho email and automation: is everything well connected? Does it work on both desktops and phones?
- Conduct some A/B testing – If you have enough time for this as you prepare for your launch, show different versions of the same funnel elements (like your landing page or an email) to some leads. That way, you’ll get to see what resonates the most with your waitlist subscribers. This can then inform the rest of your funnel and marketing
- Check your analytics – Do this regularly (on both ScoreApp and Zoho) to monitor how your subscribers engage with your waitlist funnel. For example, if many of them unsubscribe after the same email, you’ll need to edit or remove it. This will allow you to set yourself up for success and turn more of those waitlist subscribers into paying customers!
